Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Has The Best Smartphone Cameras, Says Dxomark
Mi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi’s latest premium model launched on Monday, surpassed the Huawei Mate 40 Pro + to become the latest smartphone number one in the DxOMark camera rank. The Mi series offering has a professional quality camera on the back with a huge 50 megapixel Samsung GN2 sensor. DxOMark said the flagship camera’s sensor is close to the traditional 1-inch sensor available on Sony RX cameras. The Mi 11 Ultra also achieved 100 points, especially in the zoom test. It is significantly higher than the 68 points that the iPhone 12 Pro Max received and the 76 points that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G received.
While the benchmark website DxOMark has yet to present its detailed Mi 11 Ultra camera review, it has shared some scores that highlight the recording and video recording performance of the new smartphone. The Mi 11 Ultra has received an overall camera rating of 143 in the DxOMark benchmarks. This is higher than the 139 points received by the Huawei Mate 40 Pro +, which topped DxOMark’s list of best camera smartphones so far.

In terms of different results, the Mi 11 Ultra scored 148 for its still photography, 100 for zoom, and 117 for video. The phone seems to keep the texture in still photos quite a bit when compared to the competition. The DxOMark team also took some comparison photos to view the trailers on board.
The Mi 11 Ultra has also attracted DxOMark reviewers with its 5x optical zoom compatible periscope lens that also supports 120x digital zoom and 10x hybrid zoom. The phone received 131 points mainly for its telephoto capabilities.
DxOMark has also noted that the video recording part of the Mi 11 Ultra has 105 points for colors and 103 points for lighting. Its 117 points in video recording performance outperformed its next closest competitors, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Huawei Mate 40 Pro +, which got 116 and 115 points from DxOMark respectively.
The Mi 11 Ultra has the ability to switch between frame rates of 60 fps and 30 fps in 4K to provide the correct video quality results. There is also a completely new implementation of the HDR mode to appeal to mobile photographers.
Xiaomi has brought the Mi 11 Ultra to both China and the global market with a starting price of CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs. 67,000) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The phone has a Samsung E4 2K WQHD + AMOLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. It also includes a 1.1-inch secondary AMOLED display on the back, allowing users to take selfies and make video calls with the secondary screen.
