Samsung A50 and Galaxy A50s get Android 11 update via One UI 3.1

The Samsung A50 and Galaxy A50s were among the best-selling Samsung smartphones of their time. These phones debuted with One UI 1.x based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. They were updated to Android 10 based on One UI 2.5 late last year. Now the duo is starting to receive the One UI 3.1 (Android 11) update.

Samsung launched the One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 from December 2020. Shortly after the launch of the Galaxy S21 series, the company focused on providing One UI 3.1. Therefore, some devices like Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A50s that don’t have One UI 3.0 are now upgraded directly to One UI 3.1.

According to recent user reports from the official Samsung India community website, the OEM has now started rolling out One UI 3.1 on Android 11 for the Galaxy A50 (model number SM-A505F). The update measures approximately 1.8GB and the build can be identified by the firmware version A505FDDU7CUBC. Although the OTA is only available on a limited basis, expect it to be rolled out to more markets soon.

The One UI 3.1 update for the Galaxy A50 is currently available in India with firmware version A505FDDU7CUBC. The OTA update weighs in at 1,871.38MB and increases the level of security patches until March 2021.

On the other hand, Galaxy A50s One UI 3.1 update is life in Vietnam. The OTA update comes with firmware version A507FNXXU5DUB6 and the March 2021 security patches.

The Android 11 update for the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A50s is expected to be available in more regions in the coming days. In any case, users can go to Settings> Software update> Download and install to check if their device has the update.
