Samsung Sam Virtual Assistant to Arrive Soon and Here's the New 3D Versions First Look

Samsung is reportedly working on its new virtual assistant named Sam Virtual Assistant. Unlike Bixby, the company’s previous virtual assistant, this new version is a three-dimensional 3D figure. The Samsung Virtual Assistant Name is Sam.

Previously, Apple’s main competitor had only launched a 2D model of its virtual assistant, the current Bixby model. And now rumors and speculation are coming releasing some screenshots of the expected 3D version of Samsung’s Sam Virtual Assistant.

With that, many fans are now excited about the new character, which has undergone a radical change, especially when it comes to virtual design. Based on the leaked photos and videos, the tech giant’s new service offers more expressions, textures, and poses.

These new features are designed to make Samsung’s virtual assistant more modern and interesting. If you haven’t seen Sam yet, here’s what she actually looks like.

According to the latest Android Headlines report, Lightfarm Studios is the first to release Sam’s renderings. On the other hand, the visual arts production house has also released a statement to show users what to expect from Bixby’s alleged replacement.

Thanks to the collaboration between Samsung and Lightfarm Studios. The two companies were able to create a new character that looks like an anime. She has blue eyes, strong eyebrows, black hair, and smooth eyes.

Apart from that, she also wears a 3/4 shirt with the official Samsung Galaxy logo. On the other hand, Lightfarm Studios has also announced that the software will be used to create new photo renders of Sam.

The production company said they used Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Marvelous Designer, Blender 3D, and SideFX Houdini. Professional photographers and digital artists currently use all editing software.

How Does Sam Samsung Virtual Assistant Work?

So far, Samsung has not confirmed the details of Sam’s features. While this is the case, you can still get a feel for Bixby’s current capabilities.

Pocket-Lint previously reported that Samsung’s current virtual assistant is specifically designed to perform a slew of interactions. This includes performing a single task.

On the other hand, this virtual function can also understand natural language, thus identifying what the user wants to do even when not speaking. Thanks to Samsung’s efforts, Bixby can currently know what you want, even if your statements are incomplete.

  • Say “Enable HDR” to turn on this feature in the Camera app.

  • Say “Remind me to take medicine at 3:00 PM” to have Bixby remember the reminder.

Samsung’s Virtual Assistant Sam In Action

In addition to the renderings, the multi-award-winning visual arts production house released a test clip of the new assistant in action. The clip shared on Vimeo appears to have been deleted.

This could be an indication that Lightfarm created the character, Samsung Sam Virtual Assistant, on its own. According to Unbox, it is highly unlikely to be based on an actual announcement from the company.

It is also worth mentioning here that Lightfarm has recognized the partnership with Cheil Agency for the project. For those of you who don’t know, Cheil Agency is an advertising company owned by the Samsung group.

So there is a chance that the company will soon announce Sam Virtual Assistant as an official character.
