Airtel introduces New Code To Activate, Deactivate Unsolicited Messages

Ahmad Mokhles, the Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria, on Wednesday said the telecommunications company had introduced a new Service Short Code, *902#, to activate or deactivate unsolicited messages.
Mokhles, in a statement in Lagos, said the shortcode would empower customers to choose, activate or deactivate their Value Added Service subscription at any point in time.
The statement said the service would allow customers to dial *902# to choose from two options of either activating or deactivating a VAS or SMS service.
According to it, Airtel customers will either press ‘2’ to deactivate or ‘1’ to activate a service.
It described the new offering as “placing power back in the hands of consumers”, saying that it would enable them to easily decide what services to enjoy on the smartphone network.
‘’This simple-step service short code offers our customers freedom of choice which ties with our commitment toward enriching the lives of Nigerians.
‘’This is through the provision of exceptional service experience, driven by innovative products and services,’’ the statement quoted Mokhles as saying. (NAN)

SMS Code To Stop Unwanted Spam Calls And Messages In Airtel

Airtel Nigeria’s commercial director, Ahmad Mokhles, said in a press release in Lagos that the company has introduced the do not disturb service following the NCC regulatory body’s guidelines.

He urged Airtel subscribers interested in using the do not disturb service to stop unwanted calls and messages on the Airtel network using the list of do not disturb options where Subscribers can pick and choose what they want to disable or enable.

Using the Airtel Do Not Disturb list of options, an Airtel subscriber such as yourself should text “help” to a short code “2442,” and you will receive a list of options to block unwanted and spam calls and messages from Airtel.

And that Airtel subscribers interested in receiving information on banking, insurance, and financial products can send 1 to 2442, while subscribers should send 2 to 2442 to receive real estate information.

Airtel subscribers interested in education-related information only need to send 3 to shortcode 2442.

Subscribers interested in receiving information on health topics are also encouraged to send 4 to 2442, while 5 should be sent to the same code for details on custom products and 6 for communications, broadcasts, entertainment, and technology of the company. Information.

Airtel customers who want to receive updates on tourism and leisure should send 7 to short code 2242, while users interested in reading about the sport should send 8 to the same shortcode 2442.

Similarly, Airtel subscribers interested in reading religion-based businesses are advised to send 9 to shortcode 2442.
