Samsung launched the Galaxy A42 5G with Android 10 OS out of the box. Now it gets the Android 11 update. On the other hand, the Galaxy M31, the first budget device to get the Android 11 update, now gets the incremental One UI Core 3.1.

A new update with firmware version A426BXXU1BUB7 is being rolled out for Galaxy A42 5G users in the Netherlands. This update brings the latest version of One UI 3.1 based on Android 11. It is also a direct jump from One UI 2.5. Samsung initially kicked off the Android 11 rollout process with One UI 3.0 added.

However, it switched to One UI 3.1 after the Galaxy S21 launch. Either way, the update brings Android 11 features and the latest One UI 3.1 enhancements such as revamped user interface, improved stock apps, unique permissions and automatic resets, widget Dedicated media player (in quick settings), etc.

An OTA update with firmware version M315FXXU2BUC1 weighing approximately 1.193 GB is currently being rolled out for Galaxy M31 users in India. The changelog shows improvements to the camera, performance, and security. Since the user interface is in the process of being augmented, it should benefit from features like the Galaxy M31.

It should be noted that the updates for both devices include the latest security patch from March 2021. If you live in one of these regions, check for the OTA (Over The Air) update by going to Settings> Software Update> Download and Install.

Since Samsung is in a different league when it comes to updating its older devices, this update should be rolled out to other regions in no time.
