What iPhone 6 SIM card size Do You Need?

What is the iPhone 6 SIM card size? Apple’s iPhone 6 was a huge leap forward for the company and remained a design leader for many years – we can see why you’d only want a SIM card with this classic iPhone. That meant higher-quality screens, Apple Pay, and improved front and rear cameras.

As such, it was very popular in our iPhone 6 review. And while Apple has made many changes to improve this generation of iPhones, the SIM card hasn’t changed. That means the iPhone 6 SIM card size is nano-SIM card.

What is a nano-SIM card?

The simple SIM has served us faithfully for years, even though we hacked the exterior to make it smaller and smaller. There are now four sizes from largest to smallest: Standard SIM, Mini-SIM, Micro-SIM, and Nano-SIM.

The latter effectively eliminates the plastic for pure SIM metal and is, therefore, the most space-saving of all. This is what most new phones use.

To get the right SIM size for your phone, all you need to do is go to your network provider. That might mean going to a store or calling for mail delivery. Either way, you’ll be told what size you need for your phone and you’ll receive either this or a triple SIM card that you can use to remove the plastic edges you don’t need.

This gives you the freedom to try out any network and have the SIM sent to you for whatever your phone needs.

How do I keep my old number?

If you want a new SIM card for your new or beloved phone, but want to keep your old number, that’s fine. You can even switch networks and still keep the trusted old numbers.

Just call your existing network provider to get your PAC code. This will take 30 days. During this time, you need to make it available to your new network so that it can be activated. In the meantime, you’ll be on a new SIM card with a different number until it’s updated. With networks such as EE, this can be done immediately. If you submit the data before 5.30 p.m., your new SIM card will have your old number at the start of the next working day. All you have to do is reboot the phone and you can continue with your old number on a new handset and network as if nothing has changed.
