How Does Sam Samsung Virtual Assistant Work?

So far, Samsung has not confirmed the details of Sam’s features. While this is the case, you can still get a feel for Bixby’s current capabilities.

Pocket-Lint previously reported that Samsung’s current virtual assistant is specifically designed to perform a slew of interactions. This includes performing a single task.

On the other hand, this virtual function can also understand natural language, thus identifying what the user wants to do even when not speaking. Thanks to Samsung’s efforts, Bixby can currently know what you want, even if your statements are incomplete.

Here are the other Bixby features you should know about:

  • Say “Open Messages” to open the Messages app.
  • Say “Enable HDR” to turn on this feature in the Camera app.
  • Say “Take a selfie and share it on Facebook” to force your device to do just that.
  • Say “Remind me to take medicine at 3:00 PM” to have Bixby remember the reminder.

Samsung’s Virtual Assistant Sam In Action

In addition to the renderings, the multi-award-winning visual arts production house released a test clip of the new assistant in action. The clip shared on Vimeo appears to have been deleted.

This could be an indication that Lightfarm created the character, Samsung Sam Virtual Assistant, on its own. According to Unbox, it is highly unlikely to be based on an actual announcement from the company.

It is also worth mentioning here that Lightfarm has recognized the partnership with Cheil Agency for the project. For those of you who don’t know, Cheil Agency is an advertising company owned by the Samsung group.

So there is a chance that the company will soon announce Sam Virtual Assistant as an official character.
