Xiaomi Mi 11 vs Oppo Reno5 Pro Plus vs Vivo X60 Pro

Xiaomi Mi 11 vs Oppo Reno5 Pro Plus vs Vivo X60 Pro

Xiaomi has just launched the new Xiaomi Mi 11: the first flagship equipped with the new Snapdragon 888. But despite the best chipset in the Android world, the Mi 11 is still a flagship killer that is sold at a very interesting price. In addition to the Mi 11, two more flagships became official in the last days of 2020: the OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus and Vivo X60 Pro. In this comparison, we decided to compare the specifications of the best Android flagships released by the Chinese brands to make you understand what is the most interesting device you can buy without spending a lot of money.

Design:

The Xiaomi Mi 11 has a very original and beautiful design. With its rounded-edge camera module and very high screen-to-body ratio, it is definitely an attractive phone that tries to differentiate itself from the competition. But OPPO Reno5 Pro + is my favorite for a simple reason: its electrochromic body. The back can change color with a simple double-tap, and this is an incredible design feature. Vivo X60 Pro still comes with a beautiful design and premium materials, but I personally prefer OPPO Reno5 Pro + and I think many people will agree.

Display

The Xiaomi Mi 11 is equipped with the most advanced screen: for the first time, Xiaomi chose a screen with Quad HD + resolution. The screen of the Xiaomi Mi 11 has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and HDR10 + certification, as well as a very high brightness of up to 1500 nits. The screen got an A + from DisplayMate and is actually one of the best panels out there. But OPPO Reno5 Pro + does not play with its 90 Hz AMOLED display, nor with the Vivo X60 Pro AMOLED panel. Moreover, all phones have a fingerprint reader on the display.

Hardware-software

If you want the most powerful smartphone, you should choose the Xiaomi Mi 11. It is the first and currently the only phone powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform – Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful SoC. The phone also offers up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of native UFS 3.1 storage. But the Vivo X60 Pro is still a very good flagship thanks to the Exynos 1050 chipset built at 5nm, offering the same memory configuration. With OPPO Reno 5 Pro + you get an older Snapdragon 865 chipset, but it is still the flagship.

Camera

Just don’t choose the Xiaomi Mi 11 if you need the most advanced camera phone. Due to the lack of a telephoto and periscope sensor, it is not compatible with optical zoom. The optical zoom you can get with the Oppo Reno5 Pro + and Vivo X60 Pro, the latter has the best zoom features and Carl Zeiss lenses, but the former has a better main camera, at least on paper: a 50-inch Sony IMX766 sensor MP. Overall, the Vivo X60 Pro looks a bit more advanced as a camera phone, thanks to the great secondary sensors.

Battery

Xiaomi Mi 11 has the largest battery, but that does not necessarily mean that it has a longer life in all scenarios. Due to its higher screen resolution, it has a shorter battery life in some situations. The Oppo Reno5 Pro + has a good 4,500 mAh battery, but you should note that the 7 nm Snapdragon 865 chipset is less efficient. Xiaomi Mi 11 is the only one with wireless charging, but the Oppo Reno5 Pro + has the fastest charging technology with 65W of power.

Price

Prices for the Xiaomi Mi 11 start at € 504 / $ 611, as does the Oppo Reno5 Pro +, while the Vivo X60 Pro starts at € 565 / $ 685. There is no definitive winner of this comparison: the Oppo Reno5 Pro + has the best design and great cameras, Vivo X60 Pro is the best camera phone and it has a 5nm chipset, Xiaomi Mi 11 has the best screen and hardware but inferior as a camera phone. Which would you choose?
